Top-seed Tigers set for NCAA Greensboro Regional
The No. 2 Auburn men?s golf team is the top seed at the NCAA Greensboro Regional and will face four top-25 teams Thursday through Saturday at the Grandover Resort?s East Course.
Auburn must finish in the top-five to advance to the NCAA Championships.
?It is a great feeling to be the No. 1 seed,? head coach Nick Clinard said. ?The guys have really worked hard. I am proud of them. We are looking forward to getting to Greensboro and competing.?
Junior Blayne Barber, who leads the SEC in scoring average at 70.66, claims the top spot for the Tigers this weekend. The Lake City, Fla., native is on pace to break the 36-year old Auburn scoring record, which was set by Buddy Gardner in 1976. This season, Barber was named to the first team All-SEC and a Ben Hogan Award Semifinalist.
Also in Auburn?s lineup is Will McCurdy, Niclas Carlsson, Dominic Bozzelli and Michael Johnson.
